How Swedish practice works

First, study a Swedish word with its English meanings and example sentences. Listen to its pronunciation, then practise recalling what it means. If you miss an answer, Solveig shows the correction and gives you a chance to practise it. Reviews adapt to your answers rather than following a fixed list for everyone.

Solveig uses spaced repetition to plan reviews from your practice history. You still need to practise regularly; a progress bar is a record of your learning, not a promise of fluency.

Build a habit you can keep

Small Swedish encounters add up: a greeting, a message or a sentence you hear. Vocabulary practice gives you a place to revisit useful words between those encounters. Keep listening and reading alongside your flashcards, and use the next session to retrieve words before checking the answer.

Who is it for?

Solveig supports Swedish vocabulary study for English speakers. A brief initial calibration helps find your starting point. The course supports word learning; it is a companion to Swedish lessons and conversation, rather than a full grammar or speaking course.

Questions before you start

Can I hear the Swedish words?

Yes. Swedish pronunciation is available for words and displayed example sentences during practice, so you can listen as well as read.

Can I learn Swedish and another language?

Yes. You can change your course in Account. Your Swedish, French and Spanish vocabulary progress stays separate, so switching courses does not overwrite what you have learned.

Can I try Solveig for free?

Yes. Start with free practice, pronunciation and progress tracking. Solveig Plus adds unlimited practice and an AI tutor for questions about words. You can see the current subscription price on the homepage before upgrading.

How can I see what I have learned?

The Progress page shows your vocabulary and learning progress for each word. The practice session recap highlights words you have worked on and words that still need attention.
