Your learning data

Solveig stores your account identifier, verified email address when supplied, vocabulary progress, answers, and conversations so you can continue learning across devices.

Services we use

Auth0 handles sign-in, including Google and email. Stripe handles subscriptions and payment details. Solveig stores the customer and subscription identifiers and subscription status, not card details.

French words and your answers are sent to TypeSafe’s Jev to assess translations. If you use AI chat, the word, your answer, and that conversation are sent to OpenAI. French pronunciation text is sent to ElevenLabs. Generated recordings are saved and reused.

Reports, conversations and shared examples

If you report a card, an administrator may send your report, your answer and any chat on that card to an AI model, which can review and update the shared definition, examples or explanation. These changes are kept in an audit that administrators can read, including the report and conversation that prompted a change. Chats alone never change a card. Avoid entering personal or sensitive information into the chat or a report. Shared examples are intended to be general, rather than copies of your personal conversation.

Site analytics

We count visits with a self-hosted instance of Umami, an open-source analytics tool running on our own server. It sets no cookies, stores no IP addresses and does not follow you across other sites. It records page views, the page you came from, your country, browser and device type, and a few actions such as pressing Start learning. It is switched off if your browser sends Do Not Track. Nothing is shared with advertising networks.

Storage and access

Your progress is associated with your signed-in account. Other learners cannot view your answers or chat history. Learning data and audits are retained on the Solveig server, with backups. Essential session cookies keep you signed in.
